Promoters Duco have confirmed that the Joseph Parker vs Andy Ruiz Jr bout will take place at Vector Arena in Auckland on December 10. The fight for the vacant WBO heavyweight title will remain on New Zealand soil after Duco managed to secure the requisite financial backing following Auckland City Council's denial of their bid for public funding last week.

"We are only able to host the event in Auckland because of the tremendous support from our sponsors who grasp just how big an occasion this will be for all New Zealanders."

    Visiting Tamaki Primary

Last week Wednesday Ruapotaka school went to Tamaki Primary school. We had to use  three buses to go to their school. When we got there they did a welcoming so the kapahaka group had to welcome us to their school. The girls sang a song and the boys did the Haka. We had to leave our school because the Asbestos company had to come and clean our school roof and nobody was not allow to go inside but only the teachers that were allow to go inside the staff room. We won't allowed to go inside because there was Asbestos in our roof and we might get sick and miss our learning at school. On Friday Tamaki Primary had Tongan Language Week at their school and it was fun and their dances were cool as also they sang some songs it was sweet as.

I HAD A GOOD TIME THERE!!!

Image result for hockeyI train on the main field where all the other athletes train, but I train on the hockey field. My coach’s name is Daniel he is very good at field hockey. He taught us how to do some tricks for field hockey, so my other team member was not listening to our coach so she had to get out for 10mins. Next week I am going to win the gold medal for my team, so I can make my coach happy and my whole family happy, because they came all the way here just for me so I have to try my best at playing with my team members and work as a team when we are on the hockey field. . Matariki Maori New Year

Matariki, or Maori New Year  celebrations were once popular, but they stopped in the 1940s. Only a few people took part. Traditionally, Matariki was a time to remember those who had died in last year. But it was also a happy event. Matariki was a time for singing, dancing and feasting. It is celebrated more often these days.   Matariki                                                              The Pleiades/Matariki cluster.
